To reinforce the Transport and Logistics team, Cefic is looking for a (M/F/D): 

SQAS Manager

Mission of the role:
Reporting to the Director of Transport and Logistics, you will manage Cefic’s SQAS scheme (Safety & Quality Assessment for Sustainability), to improve the safe, sustainable and efficient transport and logistics of products and raw materials of the chemical industry. 

With the support of the transport & logistics Issue Teams and SQAS Executive Committee, you will be responsible following up on key logistics business, policy and regulatory developments, and for developing the SQAS scheme to address these, taking into account legal, political and company boundaries.  You will support SQAS members in the implementation of best practices in transport and logistics safety, sustainability and digitalisation via SQAS.

Are you inspired by these responsibilities? 
You will: 
•    Manage the SQAS Technical & Accreditation Committee and support the SQAS Executive Committee 
•    Manage the SQAS Service Group, the ESAD (Distributors) Service Group and the Logistics & Distributors User Group
•    Manage budgets of SQAS/ESAD Service Groups 
•    Foster development and implementation of sustainable transport & logistics solutions in the chemical industry via SQAS.
•    Be the voice of and advocate for SQAS towards EU transport policy makers, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
•    Revise and upgrade the assessment questionnaires and guidelines
•    Maintain a quality assurance system on the SQAS assessors to keep their performance at high level 
•    Assure the availability of assessors to run the SQAS system by organizing regular accreditation trainings
•    Work together with the IT provider to maintain the software application for assessors and SQAS database
•    Co-operate with industry associations representing the logistic service providers and distributors and with other assessment schemes
•    Further expand the SQAS scheme to other European countries and assist other regions in implementing the SQAS scheme   


Can you make the difference? 
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who demonstrates the following experience and competencies:

•    A master’s degree in engineering, sciences, or business management
•    At least 8 of experience carrying out internal or external audits  in the chemicals transport industry or manufacturing 
•    At least 10 years of working experience within the chemicals transport industry or manufacturing 
•    Knowledge of the international regulations for the transport of dangerous goods, ideally certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)
•    A strong project manager, results oriented and able to work under pressure and to prioritize while managing multiple tasks,

Required personal and interpersonal qualities: 
•    A good team player who is able to work as well independently and objectively in a multi-functional and multicultural team.
•    Strong communication skills: ability to speak clearly and concisely in front of a group; ability to deliver well-organized, very enthusiastic and convincing presentations and ability to adapt style and language to audience.
•    Excellent writing, networking and negotiation skills (in person and virtually).
•    Excellent organisational, project management and computer skills. 
•    A curious personality, keen to learn and improve continuously. 
•    Pro-active with service and customer orientation
•    Prepared to live in Belgium (Brussels) 
•    Full professional proficiency in English (written and oral), additional European languages are a definite asset.
