Our client is looking for a Operations Manager who can lead their new site in Genk. You will be responsible for warehouses and terminal in Genk, focusing on the operational flows and improving the current quality of the logistics services provided.
• Monitors the quality of the day to day logistics activities together with the local operational staff;
• Develops a good working relationship with customers to enhance customer satisfaction and customer retention, in combination with the account manager (more in background since the Account Manager is primary contact for customers);
• Follows up closely and comments the profitability of these customers internally, limited to operational input regarding productivities/people/processes;
• Implement new operational customers on our site in Genk;
• Implement new operational ways of working on our site in Genk;
• Follow the internal procedures and safety guidelines re. Information security;
• Identify, report and register IT-related information security risks or incidents according to the training received;
• Report (quality, safety and environment) issues in the resp. working area to the management. Where possible, suggest preventive actions to improve;
• Follow internal procedures and instructions of the quality system;
We're looking for:
• 5-10 years’ experience in an operational role;
• Education: Bachelor degree, preferably in Logistics, or similar by experience;
• 5S / Kaizen / Lean management has no secrets for you, the same can be said about your knowledge of operational flows : pallet/box/piece picking etc;
• Language skills: professional speaking and writing of Dutch, English, French, additional language skills are an asset;
• Advanced Excel knowledge.
